Night time? One day is a few seconds on normal speed – the effect would be more or less a constantly blinking map.

You set the visual time and game time to be separate. So it isn’t effected by speed of game. And then just make day time last 30 minutes nigh-time around 10. It would just be nice to give you some sense of time passing.
